Unreal Engine plugin
Probability Director
Secure and deterministic probability streams, exact dice and probability analysis, persistence, diagnostics, and isolated Editor experiments.
Planned release: TBD
Compatibility
Compatibility has not been verified for public display.
Probability you can reason about.
Build secure and deterministic probability systems with named runtime streams, exact dice and probability analysis, persistence support, diagnostics, and isolated Editor experiments.
Probability Director is planned for release. Its documentation is available ahead of the Fab listing so developers can review the workflows and technical reference before purchase becomes available.
The problem it solves
Random choices can become difficult to reproduce when unrelated calls share state, order changes during development, or probability rules are repeated across gameplay code. Probability Director gives each responsibility a named Stream and supports both call-order-driven Sequential operations and semantic Keyed decisions.
Capabilities
- Fixed or Secure seed sources, with separate Sequential and Keyed decision modes.
- Exact probability and dice analysis, numeric dice pipelines, distributions, bias, and ranked weighted selection.
- Reusable numeric Resolution Rules Data Assets for supported dice workflows.
- Explicit persistence policies for Probability Director state, coordinated by the host game’s save system.
- Bounded diagnostics and a read-only Runtime Inspector.
- Isolated Editor Labs for probability, dice, distributions, names, and Monte Carlo experiments.
Who it helps
Use it when a game needs reproducible tests, stable semantic outcomes, configurable dice resolution, exact probability analysis, or a controlled way to inspect runtime decisions.
Developer experience
Blueprint and C++ use the same Game Instance-scoped runtime. Ordinary Blueprint gameplay nodes use world context. C++ code should resolve the correct Game Instance subsystem, register Streams during stable initialization, reuse them, and check each returned status.
Technical boundaries
- Probability Director is a standalone plugin. DirectorBridge is an optional integration for communication with other Director products; it is not required for standalone use.
- The host game owns save slots, storage, encryption, and gameplay state. Probability Director owns its own runtime and approved persistence payload semantics.
- Secure randomness is not an anti-cheat system and does not encrypt game saves.
- Engine compatibility is listed only after release-specific validation; no compatibility claim is made on this page.
