Probability Director — Third-Party Notices

Probability Director includes third-party software. Those components remain governed by their own licenses.

Probability Director includes LibSodium for cryptographic/randomness-related functionality.

LibSodium is distributed under the ISC License.

The original LibSodium license file is included with the bundled LibSodium component and must remain unmodified in the distribution. That original license text is controlling for LibSodium.

TuxedoCat Studio does not claim ownership of LibSodium.

Relationship to the Probability Director license

Section titled “Relationship to the Probability Director license”

The Fab license governing Probability Director’s first-party content does not replace or restrict rights granted under the LibSodium ISC License.

When redistributing a project or package that includes LibSodium, preserve the notices required by the LibSodium license.

If additional third-party components are added to Probability Director in a future release, their applicable notices and license requirements must be added to this document before distribution.

Algorithm references for editor-only Lab engines

Section titled “Algorithm references for editor-only Lab engines”

The first-party MT19937-32 and PCG32 XSH-RR Lab engines are written as original Probability Director code from the published algorithm contracts. No third-party source package or binary dependency is included for either engine.

MT19937-32 follows the init_genrand contract and published reference vectors from Makoto Matsumoto and Takuji Nishimura’s MT19937 reference material. The published reference implementation is available under a BSD-style license:

https://www.math.sci.hiroshima-u.ac.jp/m-mat/MT/MT2002/emt19937ar.html

PCG32 XSH-RR follows Melissa O’Neill’s official PCG reference contract, including the two-stage pcg32_srandom_r initialization and XSH-RR output. The published reference implementation is available under the Apache License 2.0:

These references govern the algorithm attribution and known-answer vectors; they are not vendored into the Probability Director distribution.
