Progression
Review draft. This source page has not completed website editorial and release-specific verification.
Skill Director has two independent finite progression paths. XP amounts,
thresholds, and carried XP use signed int64; overflow is rejected rather than
wrapped.
Global Skill Points
Section titled “Global Skill Points”Global XP -> global schedule threshold -> Unspent Skill Point -> manual SpendSkillPoint(SkillId)The Profile’s optional Global Progression Schedule contains ordered XP costs. Entry 0 buys the first point; entry N is the next cost after N points have already been awarded by Global XP. One grant can cross multiple thresholds. Remainder carries toward the next threshold while one exists. Manual investment does not change the global schedule position.
When the finite schedule is exhausted, further XP cannot award points. The mutation reports unconsumed XP; unusable XP is not banked indefinitely. Spending a point decrements Unspent Skill Points and permanently increases the chosen Skill’s invested contribution. A Skill at BaseMax cannot receive a point.
Per-Skill increases
Section titled “Per-Skill increases”Per-Skill XP -> that Skill's threshold -> permanent Base increaseEach Skill’s optional schedule is indexed only by the number of XP-derived increases already earned. Entry 0 buys the first increase. Global point investment does not advance this index. Grants can cross multiple entries; carry XP is kept while the next increase remains possible.
At BaseMax or when the finite schedule is exhausted, the path is terminal. Unusable XP is not retained; the mutation result reports the terminal reason and unconsumed part of the request. Base never exceeds authored BaseMax.
Schedule assets
Section titled “Schedule assets”Each USkillProgressionSchedule is a finite array of positive int64 XP
costs. Empty schedules, zero entries, and negative entries fail Data
Validation. One schedule asset can be reused by multiple profiles or Skill
entries.
